12/10/2012, Thrissur : If the entire society is considered as the body, engineers are the muscles of it - Padma Vibhushan Dr. E. Sreedharan said here today. Engineers are the group of professionals to deliver prosperity to the Nation- DMRC Principal Adviser added. He was addressing the gathering of engineers as Chief Guest in the event of Visvesvaraya Medal Presentation organized by the Association of Engineers Kerala here at Lulu International Convention Centre. State President of the Association Er. D. Gopakumar presided over the function. The elegant event started with the grand depiction of the profile of Bharat Ratna Sir Mokshagundam Visvesvaraya by Er. Sudheer Padikkal. Welcome address was done by District President Er. A.N. Rajan. The souvenir connected with the event was released by Dr. Sreedharan receiving a copy from Er. C.K. Abdul Salam. Visvesvaraya gold medals for the meritorious children of the members were given out by Dr. Sreedharan. The winners of the medals are Master Nevin Valasaraj S/o Er. V.P. Valsaraj, Assistant Executive Engineer, PWD Buildings Division, Kazaragoad. & Aneesh D.S S/o Er. Sobhana Kumari, Assistant Executive Engineer, Vellanad Block Panchayath, Thiruvananthapuram. Er. H. Narayanaswami & Er. N. Ravindran felicitated the function. In the address of Chief guest, Dr. Sreedharan stressed the importance of integrity to be maintained in the engineering profession. He also emphasized the significance of honesty and fearlessness in the life of an engineer who works for government. Entire function came to a close with the vote of thanks by Er. P. J. Alexander, the State General Secretary of the Association of Engineers.
