Chamaravattom RCB dedicated to the Nation.

17/05/2012, Malappuram: The largest Regulator Cum Bridge in Kerala was dedicated to the nation by Chief Minister Oommen Chandy today at 4:00 pm. The project ensures irrigation facilities to 4344 Ha of agricultural land. Ponnani & Tirur municipalities and fourteen panchayaths are benefited by this. Nine lift Irrigation projects are also supplemented by this project. The other major benefit is the shortening of Kochi- Kozhikode route by 40km. The structure is 978m long and 7.5m wide with footpaths of width 1.5m on either sides. The regulator comprises 70 shutters of 12m X 4m. The retention height of the reservoir is 4 m.
